May Day

| Friday, May 01, 2009
I wanted to go to the sea on this weekend at Vama Veche, but I'm short of money. I feel like I belong to there. Damn it. I can imagine thousands and thousands of nice freeky peoople wandering about there, good music and beautiful ladies. Oh, and the sea... The sea is cold, I imagine, but I would definitely take a swim. Alcohol, tents, sand, guitars and all those are waiting for me but in vain. I'm not gonna be there. So sad... Maybe I'm too old from now on for this kind of escapades. I remember those days when I was there with my friends. I was in "2 Mai" resort. The beach was totally different. I can remember an unknown girl asked me if I hadn't been the previous night in her tent cuz she said she knew me by my sign that I had on my neck. She was a little drunk but very hot. Another year I've been there with one of my mate. I'm not gonna say anything more about that. The sea is thrilling me. I will not have the opportunity to go to the sea on this summer cuz I will be in UK.

School is good

| Monday, December 15, 2008
I like the school. I hope very soon I will have my own classroom. I will not be going from a classroom to another after every class. My principal is a nice person. There is a lot to do there. I hope I can help for some good changes there. I want to talk more with my colleagues. My principal want me to help for starting a magazine for our high school. This is the last week of school this year. My students have marks but they need more and I'm gonna ask them to take tests in January. I have to fill the register with the marks in the tests. There is an empty classroom at the second level of the high school. There are some English materials there but I spoke to the religion teacher and he agreed to join me and start a religion and philosophy classroom. Sometimes we have classes in the same time and we will need to spoke to the principal to change the timetable. There is another problem with the students who sometimes have classes there. I mean the students who have classes in the afternoon and the students who have classes in the morning have another extra class the same time with the first class of the afternoon students. Anyway there are another empty classrooms, like the 11B classroom.

I live in Romania

| Sunday, December 07, 2008
I live in Romania and it takes forever. We don't have the culture of respecting the rules. There are a lot of stereotypes about the Gypsy people and not only. The press is full of stupid journalists. The TV anchors have opinions and they can't keep themselves from expressing them. The political 'analysts' teach us that all the politicians are evil and they are angels. They don't tell us where their money comes from. The TV stations are owned by very rich guys who made their money out of illegal activities, and now they are trying to promote the politicians who promised them to let them free. Actually they are trying to control the politics and promote their unjustified interests. Antena 1 is one of those TV stations where the owner is both a businessman and a politician. Realitatea TV is another one. I hate those stupid journalists who want to convince us that they are smarter than anybody. They want to be the 'Romanian CNN' but they are so far away from what they wanna be.

A Black President at the White House

| Sunday, November 09, 2008
It's amazing. The power of democracy is amazing in America. I personally have been a republican, but I think I would have voted for Obama too. McCain deserves huge respect but not the US President's chair. I like black people. My OS is a Linux called Ubuntu that is an African word for peace. The Kenyan people were so happy at the Obama's victory. His speeches are amazing. I hope his election will be positive for Romania. We have a problem with the visas. I hope this year the Romanians will be able to travel to America without visas. I realized that the Bush administration wasn't perfect. Maybe too many people died during the war in Iraq. I realized that democracy doesn't come suddenly. It is gained by suffer, periods of poverty, corruption and so on. America has always been in front of the other nations. Romania is at least one hundred years behind America. Everyone seems to be happy of the Obama's victory. Sara Palin wasn't quite ready for prime time. She is a nice woman but as a vicepresident is far from the right person. I would love to visit Alaska where she is governor. Anyway the media exagerated a lot about her past. I wanna see now a woman at the White House and she may be the one.

My new high school

| Saturday, September 27, 2008
It's been now almost a month since I started to work in a new high school and the things seem to work smoothly. It is 'Liceul Teoretic Paul Georgescu' in Tandarei, 25 kilometers from my hometown. The people here are nice and I feel pretty comfortable with my new students. I don't know if it's because they are kinder or because I got more experience and so I know better how to speak to my students. Anyway, my new principal are definitely more open minded than my previous one in Urziceni. I found out that I should work more at home in order to do my job better in the classroom. I have an American colleague and that's great. He is a volunteer teacher and I can share with him my opinions on education. Our views are similar. I feel like the things are getting better and better. There are more young teachers and I don't feel uncomfortable in the teacher's lounge like before. The students are definitely more respectful. I hope everything's gonna be OK this year. I have to do a lot of things like my 'definifivat' and , if I can, some contests for students. I have to do my papers for the next week now. I'll be back soon with new stuff.

Death

| Wednesday, August 27, 2008
My grand-mom died. It was terrifying as always. She had a brain accident. She was taken to the hospital and after a few days the doctor said she was not gonna live so we was advised to take her home and that's what we did. after a day home she died. She was a nice grand-mom. She lived alone after my grandpa died few years ago. When I was little, mom used to took me there to play with my siblings from Brasov. I have very nice memories from then.

Olympics

| Tuesday, August 19, 2008
I have been watching now the Olympic Games for more than a week. I was disappointed by the Romanians who failed a lot. Marian Dragulescu the Romanian gymnast failed yesterday at vaults. I rediscovered the fun of watching the Olympic games. Usain Boltt was amazing but the man of this edition is definitely Michael Phelps who won the most medals ever, I think 13. Romania wasn't very lucky at this edition but it's important to be there. I can remember when I was very young and watched the Olympic Games at a black and white TV set.
